Each of us has to make sense out of our life. We all have to find a way to heal our wounds and live with dignity and peace of mind. We all need access to sustaining relationships. If you don’t fit into one of the standard anatomically based binary gender categories, dealing with a society that finds you inconvenient can be especially rough.
Gender and sexuality have a more holistic, fluid and multidimensional nature than people generally realize. We all deserve our place in society as we actually are, not as conscripts forced to become a parody of a narrow binary ideal. Acknowledging the wide spectrum of possible life paths, gender identities and roles, I give top priority to providing a safe environment for clients to explore or change their relationships, behaviors or presentation. That exploration can lead to replacing stuckness with movement, deprivation with options and alienation with belonging.
I have a great deal of experience working with individuals who define themselves as transgender, transsexual, cross-dresser, as well as individuals who are not ready at the moment to define themselves. . |
